	Hi-tech Sympatex jackets with Super Roubaix SUPER ROUBAIX® Fast-recovery super-stretch fabric, air permeable, strong, soft, comfortable and easy care. SYMPATEX The hydrophilic high-tech membrane from Sympatex® Technology is made of copolymer polyether ester. No water is able to enter from outside, while the water vapour molecules that arise inside from sweat are transported through the membrane to the outside by means of a physiochemical process. In other words, it is waterproof and breathable at the same time. How does this work? There is a difference in temperature and water vapour concentration between the human body and the outside world. Sympatex® Technology makes use of the different pressure conditions inside (high) and outside (low) the clothing. This pressure is the driving force: the water vapour molecules that form during perspiration are directed through the membrane in the direction of the lower pressure. This means that rain cannot penetrate the clothing due to the pressure difference. What distinguishes Sympatex® membranes? Sympatex® membrane technology makes it possible: the compact hydrophilic Sympatex membrane is thinner, lighter, more stretchable and more durable than any other name-brand membrane in the world. Because of its closed surface, there is nothing to block up, which in turn ensures constant optimum breathability. To ensure functionality, all products with Sympatex® Technology are subjected to an extremely strict quality control system. How breathable is clothing and footwear with Sympatex® Technology? The greater the breathability of clothing, the greater their wearing comfort. The Hohenstein Institutes have defined four categories for the breathability of clothing. Performance of the corresponding tests demonstrated that the Sympatex® membrane belongs in the highest category: “very good” How long-lasting are the functions of Sympatex® Technology? Because water vapour is transported in accordance with physiochemical principles, the high-tech membrane from Sympatex® Technology is not subject to wear, and its breathability does not change. In addition, washing agent residue, salt crystals and dirt cannot build up in the membrane’s poreless structure. This means that clothing and footwear with Sympatex® Technology is 100% waterproof, windproof and optimally breathable – and stays that way.
